What percentage of selling price do you usually get from a consignment shop?
For example if I have an item that should go for $100 then how much do I get? Also I have some relatively (I think) expensive things, do I have to mark them down a lot? For the record I want to sell a pair of Murano glass from Venice, a boulder opal, and a Dior mesh choker necklace. Thank you.
The ratio I've been quoted locally is 60-40: I get 60% and the shop gets 40%. I price the item originally (with help from the experienced shop owner). At the end of the contract term, either I come and get my items back or the shop will lower the price. My local shop is very selective in what they take and will not accept anything they're not pretty sure they can sell. You may find that the situation is different in your locality.
