What are the details about getting a ring re-sized?
My boyfriend recently bought me 2 rings from a flea market. he says that it's a diamond mounted on sterling silver (but i seriously doubt it's a diamond, though i love it and it's absolutely beautiful). Anyway, i need to get it resized from a 6 to a 4 1/2. how much would that cost, where could i do it, and how long would it take approximately?
Sizing from 6 to 5 ½ is not difficult. however, when you are going down more than one size which it seems that you are, it gets a little difficult to retain the same design. Tampering with the metal brings a different ‘look and feel’ to your ring. Costs can range depending on where you go. If the labor is too cheap, don’t expect fantastic workmanship. Being that your metal is silver, you may even have a hard time finding any jeweler to work on this. Just trying to create the right expectations for you.
