What is this type of jewerly design called?
I think it starts with a 'C' or K'.
I bought this pendant necklace at a vintage jewerly store and the owner told me it was called ___, but I can't remember what that is. The pendant is gold coloured (not real gold) and looks like an art deco rooster. He doesn't know how it was made. He says that's part of the charm of the style of jewerlly design. The guy who made it died before they learned his secrets.
It looks like the metal has been poured into a mold, polished and then the into the tiny ridges some kind of opaque paint/lacquer has been used. The surface is flat, shiny and smooth to the touch.
Any ideas?
Sounds to me like cloisonné.
